Cameroon U20 Lions Begin Final Preparations for UNIFFAC 2026 With 3-0 Win

The Cameroon U20 Lions continued their preparations for the 2026 UNIFFAC Tournament with a convincing 3-0 victory over Mintack FC in a friendly match played at the Yaoundé Military Stadium on Saturday, October 3.

Coach Yvan Kenmoe’s side dominated the game and used the encounter as another opportunity to assess the squad ahead of the upcoming regional competition.

Nsonga Mbock Opens the Scoring

The first half was closely contested, with both teams creating opportunities. Cameroon came close through Samuel Achu and Nana Ivan Jordan, but it was Nsonga Mbock who broke the deadlock in the 33rd minute.

The forward rose highest to head home from a corner, giving the U20 Lions a 1-0 lead at halftime.

Cameroon Add Two More After the Break

The Lions returned from the interval with greater attacking intent and began to exploit spaces in Mintack FC’s defence.

Mbog Camille doubled Cameroon’s advantage with a composed finish inside the penalty area, putting the Lions firmly in control.

Mintack FC, who compete in the Elite Two championship, struggled to create significant danger as Cameroon maintained control of the game.

With five minutes remaining, Songue Joachim completed the scoring with a powerful strike to seal a 3-0 victory for the U20 Lions.

Positive Test Ahead of UNIFFAC

The victory provides another encouraging result for Yvan Kenmoe’s squad as preparations for UNIFFAC 2026 continue.

With the tournament approaching, the coaching staff will be hoping to use the remaining preparation period to build team cohesion, assess individual performances and identify the players who can lead Cameroon’s U20 side in the competition.
